Don't Let the Weather Get You Down

It’s really hard to get in shape. It can be just as difficult to stay in shape, especially if you don’t workout regularly. If you’re prone to not staying in shape once you get it going a bit, think back, did you do something to stay a little bit active, every day? I’m not saying if you start lifting weights, to do that everyday. I’m also not saying that if you get back into riding your bicycle, that you should do it everyday. I was just able to get back into riding my bicycle. Winter weather, and some minor back surgery, had me wait a bit longer to start riding outdoors, than I had planned. Then, last week, I got about 4 or 5 rides in, and this week, it’s supposed to rain all week. If I don’t find something else to do during this down time, I’m liable to lose my desire all together, not to mention, the level of fitness that I’ve achieved. It’s just our nature, especially if we we don’t have a history of keeping in shape.

There’s a way to avoid this type of scenario. If we involve ourselves with a variety of types of exercises, we are more likely to keep active and fit. This would also help us to keep it going, even if the weather is bad. I’m sure many people here in the northeast are feeling a bit down right now because of all the rain, especially if you recently started an exercise routine that involved doing things outside. This is the excuse/reason, that many people use to not workout during the cold winter months. Of course it might not feel the same to do some kind of indoor workout. If you need some ideas, visit my site. The best thing to do is try to look at the big picture. Let’s say that you kept in good shape for the next 10 years. Let’s also say that your main way, and favorite way of staying in shape, is riding your bicycle. I’m using this example because it’s my favorite way. There would have to be a time in those 10 years that you just might not feel like getting on the bike to ride. There are days that it will seem like a workout, and not something you really enjoy. Well, if you find something else to do (I actually suggest a few different other forms of exercise), then you could use these when the weather isn’t cooperating, and it will help keep the excitement going for the primary way that you workout. Again, for more info, check out my website, and you can also follow me on Twitter. Bye for now. Be healthy, safe, and happy.
